In this blog i will be talking about the similarities and differences of Doug from Blue Diamond and Luke Skywalker from Star Wars. I am trying to prove that Doug and Luke have differences but they also have things in common about there personalities and the challenges they go through. Luke and Doug both have challenges that they have to go through in each story that they overcome. One of Luke's many challenges he goes through is when he needs to blow up the deathstar. An example of one challenge that Doug goes through in his story is when his best friend is trying to kill him and Doug needs to stop him. This demonstrates my point because Luke overcomes his challenge by blowing up the deathstar, and Doug stops his friend from killing himself. Another similarity of Doug and Luke is the reluctance of both of them to embark on their missions. Luke was very reluctant to leave his home town and start training to become a jedi and then embarked on a mission. Doug was just like Luke he didn't want to leave his house to go get food but left and then his journey began. Luke's uncle was one reason Luke did not want to leave because he needed help with crops. Doug did not want to go because he was doing his homework and had a test the next day. Luke and Doug had a different way of saving their characters in their journeys. Luke uses "The Force" and violence to save Princess Leia when he shoots all of the droids, while Doug uses his brain and words to save his character like when he bought the diamond from the scary man to freak out his friend. The difference from Luke to Doug is that Luke uses guns and light-sabers but Doug uses his thinker and thinks situations out to get a good result. In every story there is some type of hero that does something for a better cause, the point is is that there are different ways of achieving heroism and in both of these stories they show that.
